My daughter is 45 pounds and 47 inches tall and YS in 99 percent of her rebel wear but the YS on this would bubble in the front BIG TIME if she put her arms above her head to clap or hand in front of her. The straps also fell down on the sides. Overall if you have a petite child this style may not work for you even if you size down so pay attention to detail! It was so so cute though I wish it would have worked out :(
